5 Best of: 2015 albums (So Far)

It is hard to imagine, but the year is already half over, intact, we are all busy over here planning our fall concert tour, and I can tell you it is already starting to fill up.

The first half of 2015 has been a fun ride for us here at the blog. We have already seen so many great live shows and we have had plenty of new music to keep us happy in between shows.

Every December, we do a round up of our favorite albums of the year, but we thought it would be a fun thing to go ahead and do a 5 best of our favorites so far. I rounded up the girls and they all compiled a list of their 5 favorites and I came up with a master list from there. It will be fun to look back and see if any of these still make it to our year end list, or will they be replaced by something new and upcoming that will blow our minds!

#5- Catfish and The Bottlemen- Balcony

I feel almost guilty putting this here, we had it on our list of best albums last year, because we were lucky enough to get an advance copy and it had been released in Europe.( yeah we cheated ) But here in the US it wasn’t released until January . Is it possible that this album, already making our list twice, could pull it off again at the end of the year? We have a few girls on the blog that seem to think so

#4-Wolf Alice-My Love Is Cool
Having been released just a few short weeks ago, Wolf Alice beat out albums that we had been listening to for a while, such as James Bay and Noel Gallagher

#3- Father John Misty- I Love You Honeybear
Can I just say we have fallen in love with Josh Tillman since he “became” Father John Misty, from his zero fucks given to the industry to his real and honest, hilarious lyrics. We can not wait until fall gets here so we can see him perform live.

#2-Palma Violets- Danger In The Club
We couldn’t get enough of these guys at SXSW this year, not could we stop listening to their album once it came out in May. Sophomore albums are sometimes hard, but this one lived up to the debut.

#1- The Vaccines- English Graffti
This was hands down a favorite, on almost everyones list. We waited in the pouring rain to see them at SXSW, only for the show to be cancelled, but having the album is band aiding the pain until we see them in August finally.

So what albums are we patiently waiting for that could knock these five off our list? Here are a few…

FRANK TURNER- Positive Songs For Negative People.. ( August 7th )

FEVER THE GHOST-Zirconium Meconuim ( September )

ALBERT HAMMOND JR- Momentary Masters ( July 31 )

TAME IMPALA- Currents ( July 17th )

EZRA FURMAN- Perpetual Motion People ( July 10 )

Looks like this coming month is going to be a good one for us!
