5 Best of… Kings Of Leon

Krystal and I were excited about the news of a new Kings Of Leon album, so we decided it was about time for a Best Of featuring them.

The problem was, after speaking to each other, we knew there was no way we would agree on just five songs between us. So we decide to break it up and give you a bonus of 10 songs this month, but we have broken them up between us. Enjoy!!

KRYSTAL’S TOP FIVE

True Love Way-

This has been and always will be my favorite Kings of Leon song. I’ve never heard it live (and probably never will) but if by some miracle they ever do play it live again I hope I’m there!

Talihina Sky

This song has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of life in the Midwest. It is very beautiful but it can feel lonely and very isolated. (Especially during the harsh winters.)

Pyro-

This song still gives me chills every time I listen to it. I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard it and the feelings associated with it are still the same to this day.

Holy Roller Novocaine-

This to me is the quintessential Kings of Leon tune and one of the first ones that made me fall in love with them. The gritty Southern melody and the jangly chorus is chaotic and catchy. (** Note from Teri: This is the one song we agreed on should be on the list)

Arizona-

Another one I’ve never heard live and have begged for on multiple occasions. They played it during the leg of one of their last European tours and I was awestruck and also upset that I wasn’t there to hear it in person.

TERI’S TOP FIVE
I Want You
From the Only By The Night album, released in 2008,  it is actually one of my favorite albums by Kings Of Leon, but I hated the overplayed commercialism of two of the songs on it. I can listen to Caleb’s voice all day and all night.

Knocked Up
From The Because Of The Night album, which was released in 2007. Haunting guitar riffs make this one of my favorites.
Milk
Taken from the 2004 album Aka Shake Heartbreak. This is probably  my favorite all time KOL songs. I would love to hear it live just once. Sexy AF.
The Bucket
This is just pure rock and roll and Kings Of Leon doing what they do best. Also, probably the song that hooked me on KOL.
Crawl
I debated about this and one other song, and decided on Crawl, I mean, it has one of the best bass lines in a song…
