Brandon Flowers, frontman for The Killers, is back at it with releasing his solo work and I absolutely love it. His new album, The Desired Effect is highly anticipated by many and comes out May 19th, 2015 in the US (May 18th for the UK). His last solo album was released in 2010, so this is big and exciting news for fans of The Killers and Brandon.
Starting the album off with the song entitled, Dreams Come True, it’s pretty inspirational for anyone who is going through doubts of their dreams not coming true. The intro to the song starts out with a magical sound, making the illusion of “dreams” pop into your head. It’s a very practical song that comes together perfectly; it honestly has a victorious feel to the entire song. The second song, Can’t Deny My Love, has already been released and is out for purchase. This one is hands down my favorite off of the album. It has this 80’s feel to it that I love. Brandon’s high notes are also equally as amazing as the lyrics are. The next song is called I Can Change. This one is basically saying that he will do whatever he needs to do to be with you, even if its him changing for you. A song that can be relatable to many people in today’s world. The sixth song is called, Lonely Town. With my first listen of this song I felt like I already knew it- probably because of the 80’s music background I came from, this song has the ability to bring back childhood nostalgia which I love.
The Desired Effect is a ten-track album and I cherish each song. If you’re a fan of Brandon, or are just now hearing of him, I recommend this album to you. It can be preordered on iTunes here.
