From first listen I immediately liked it. The music is catchy and relaxing, yet the beats are still fun and the lyrics are substantial. They give off a cool, relaxed Californian vibe even though originating from England. Also, first thought was they resemble another Birmingham band–Swim Deep but Jaws has a little bit more of an edge to their songs. Some songs even give you chills while listening, I can tell they would be a great band to see live.
The first song off the album Time is a great opener, it gives you the perfect taste of what to expect. The vocals are very soothing while the instruments are entertaining and leave you wanting to hear more. The song Filth is definitely a favorite; it’s a mix of laid-back yet exciting beats with a great guitar riff. While songs like Gold and Swim generate catchy lyrics and fun beats that will get stuck in your head and guaranteed to have on repeat.
They are definitely a new band to look out for, I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more of them in the future.
