Album Review: Wild Smiles “Always Tomorrow”

Wild Smiles just released their debut album titled Always Tomorrow. This up and coming band originates from Winchester, England and formed by members Chris Peden, Joe Peden, and Ben Cook.WildSmilesAlbumsmall.170211.160057.171120

Their sound slightly resembles bands like The Ramones and Pulp. They’re edgy, unique, and have a great raw, punk rock sound. Their lyrics are impressive and very relate-able to this generation. They definitely describe some struggles of today’s youth.

A favorite track of mine is Girlfriend. This fast paced song has great guitar riffs and a beat that makes you want to do some head banging. It’s a fun, catchy song that is easily likable.
Another favorite is Never Wanted This. This song is a great anthem of saying normal life is vastly overrated. The lyrics describe buying a house, having kids and getting a job and how he will do all this to make their partner happy. It’s a striking song that I think many people can relate too.
Another song that is definitely worth a listen is Hold On. It screams the real life problems some people are having today. “People my age
can’t get a job” telling us to “Hold on, don’t think about shit.
These lyrics are undoubtedly my favorite off the album, I can stand by this song and it’s message.

This band has a great sound that is sure to be intriguing to those classic punk rock fans. I imagine they put on a high energy, exciting live show. Overall, this album is a good mix of raw, fast-paced, exhilarating songs that will leave you wanting more.
