Bully’s debut full-length album, Feels Like drops today and it’s a complete nostalgic trip.. In the sense that it’s an absolute instant classic and if you haven’t heard Trying or I Remember, then now is your chance to make up for all the lost time.
It may be a nostalgic trip but that doesn’t mean it’s repeating the past, but rather it’s reviving the gritty and grungy days of the 90’s and feeling guilt-free about.
Front woman Alicia Bognanno’s voice is like that fine crackle of a vinyl, it’s got a catch to it that is mesmerizing and different from the usual dulcet tones of current singers. They album’s lyrics are wonderful progressions paired with sounds with revealing layers about cleverly written day-to-day anxieties. The songs themselves are riveting and catchy as hell, the guitar hooks are stellar and full of rambunctious energy.
Feels Like is about under 30 minutes but it’s just enough to make an impact, seriously I can’t stop listening and singing along getting songs stuck in my head for what seems like an eternity after one listen. Stand out tracks: I Remember, Trying, and Milkman.
