Bunbury Music Festival 2016

b1The Girls at the Rock show are excited to announce that they will be covering the 2016 Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 3-5.   Situated along the banks of the Ohio River at Sawyer Point, Bunbury brings a line-up of bands that appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes.  Headlining the festival this year are The Killers, Florence and the Machine, Tears for Fears, Mudcrutch, and Haim.  Other bands include Ice Cube, The Wombats, Umphrey’s McGee, The Mowgli’s, and Diarrhea Planet.

After the 2014 Bunbury Festival, PromoWest, an independent concert promoter based in Columbus, Ohio, acquired Bunbury.   Changes to this year’s edition are geared at giving attendees a more intimate concert experience. In the past, Bunbury has had one main stage and five smaller stages.  This year there will be two main stages and two side stages.  The changes will provide for better viewing and better traffic flow for festival goers. Many people have asked what Bunbury means because the name really isn’t tied to the Cincinnati area.  According to the website, “to Bunbury, or to gobunburying, is to have a made-up excuse to get out of doing something boring. Every Bunbury weekend in June, we give you a great excuse to get out of whatever you don’t want to do.”  This year’s line up promises to be anything BUT boring.

GATR Tara V. will be roaming the festival, taking pictures, and reporting each night on the day’s activities.  At this time, all Ultimate, VIP, and three-day passes are sold out.  However, a few single-day tickets are still available for $89 at the gate.
