After plenty of teasing, Scottish trio Chvrches have returned with a brand new single entitled Get Out, not to be confused with Jordan Peele’s brilliant movie Get Out. The premiere track was recorded with super producer Greg Kurstin, who recently won Producer of the Year for the second year in a row at the GRAMMY’s, and is brimming with luscious synths that give off a sprinkle of Stranger Things mashed up with an early Veronicas vibe.
The band had this to say about working with him. “Working with Greg was so different to what we’d done before, but it also felt so comfortable and like he’d been in our band forever. He doesn’t try to make you write a certain kind of song. He just listens and then Jedi puppet masters the best work out of you. The opening synth riff of ‘Get Out’ was the first thing to emerge on our first day in the studio with him.” Listen to Get Out below.
The above YouTube video flashes a working phone number that connects you to Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry reading a few lines that sound very much like song lyrics (That number is 1-800-674-3364). Also briefly in the video is The National’s Matt Berninger teasing something called “Friend Or Foe” not sure if it’s related to a song title or anything else so we’re just wildly speculating at this point.
Chvrches continue to tease new music, their first in two years, so a new album is sure to be on the way. This will be their third album and two years since Every Open Eye.
