Last night, Eagles of Death Metal made their return to Paris for the first time since November’s terror attacks at Bataclan. The band joined U2 for a triumphant musical return. This morning, the band made a much more somber appearance as they band visited the Bataclan.
According to the New York Times, EODM spent 10 minutes at a makeshift memorial, reading tributes, and laying flowers.
89 people, including EODM’s merch manager and staffers of their record label, were killed when terrorists stormed the building during the band’s concert in November.
As previously reported, Eagles of Death Metal have launch a fund-raising campaign for victims of the attacks. They’ve called on bands and musicians to cover their song I Love You All the Time and promise to donate all money from the publishing and performance royalties. So far, the likes of My Morning Jacket, Savages, Dean Ween, Alain Johannes, and Matt Cameron have taken up the challenge.
