EP Review: Blaenavon’s Miss World

Blaenavon, the three-piece band from Hampshire, are at it again and have recently released a new EP entitled Miss World. The Band haven’t released anything since 2013, so this is very exciting for any Blaenavon fan out there. With features from Annie Mac and Zane Lowe, as well as plays on BBC Radio 6, Miss World has been hitting it off well.

The EP contains three lovely songs; Hell is My Head, Destiny’s Mild, and Dragon. They each have their own unique sound, and all come together beautifully. The first song, Hell is My Head, is the perfect way to start off the EP. With its electrifying drums and guitar alongside chillingly good vocals, it’ll have you singing along by the second listen. Destiny’s Mild is a bit more laid back, but fits in perfectly with the other two tracks, and it was definitely constructed flawlessly. The final track, as well as my favorite track is entitled Dragon. It is truly a beautiful song and brings things down a bit with mellow vocals and drums. It showcases what Blaenavon do best, in my opinion. Overall, this release has been one of my favorites of 2015, and you can hear it below.

You can stream Miss World on Sound Cloud, buy it on iTunes, or pre-order the limited 12″ vinyl. Stay up to date with Blaenavon and all of their upcoming news through Facebook and Twitter. Live in the UK? Check out their dates and catch them at a show near you!
