I’ve been listening to Currents non-stop for a week and now, you’ll be able to play it on repeat too.
Since we first heard about Currents, the guys of Tame Impala have made it abundantly clear that it would be something different from their previous albums and as promised, the album blows out all conceptions out of the water. While Innerspeaker and Lonerism were more in the direction of technicolor psych-rock meets electro pop with some lite-funk and R&B, Currents is more of a studio wizadry confection with lush soundscapes and soaring vocals of Kevin Parker that bring out the best vibes in us all.
Tame Impala have done the unexpected and inexplicably, but completely deservedly, become one of the biggest pysch-rock bands of our time. Currents oversees that there’s still so much more to expect from the Aussie group.
We’ve already heard early tracks like Let It Happen, ‘Cause I’m A Man, Eventually, and even Nangs but now the whole thing is streaming below via NPR.
