Geographer Covers Paul Simon’s “I Know What I Know”

San Francisco based band, Geographer released their third LP, Ghost Modern via Roll Call Records, earlier this year and now we have an EP of covers to look forward to. Mike Deni recalls an Arthur Russell cover that he produced back in 2014 called This Is How We Walk On The Moon and working on the cover was “so inspiring” for the musician, that he decided to record an entire EP of covers. The EP will be called Endless Motion and is set for release this December. Via Geographer’s Facebook, Mike Deni had this to say…

Today I released my version of Paul Simon’s I Know What I Know which you can get here via iTunes.
‘I Know What I Know’ represents to me the penetrating power of Paul Simon in my life, from growing up as a child listening to Graceland to rediscovering the power of its lyrics when I had come of age and amassed enough experiences of my own to fathom their emotional weight

Listen below.

The covers EP will feature re-workings of tracks by Felix Da Housecat, New Order, and Kate Bush and will serve as an intro of tour dates with RAC and ‘The Big One’ New Years Show in San Francisco with The Flaming Lips.

Endless Motion tracklisting:

1. Ready 2 Wear (Felix Da Housecat)

2. This Is How We Walk On The Moon (Arthur Russell)

3. Age Of Consent (New Order)

4. Cloudbusting (Kate Bush)

5. I Know What I Know (Paul Simon)

The most important thing to know about me is that I'm a melomaniac and shameless fangirl. I am addicted to concerts, they are my sanctuary and safe haven. When I'm on the front row on the barricade of a concert... I feel that I am truly home. I'm also a proud and happy vinyl crate-digger. Whether it's searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops... I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable. I am a true Cancer with Moon in Cancer and ascending in Pisces. Also, loves dogs (especially my son Elvis) and quality food porn pictures. Social Media: @youthquakermimi
