Black Honey are a four-piece garage/grunge rock band from Brighton, England. They have recently toured with The Wytches and Superfood which really got their name out there, people from all over have been really digging them since. Lead singer Izzy B. Phillips has beautiful vocals that I simply can’t stop listening to. The catchy guitar drops in many of their songs remind me of indie/pop band Peace. They have a completed album that won’t be released anytime soon because they are taking it slow and grasping a feel of what’s in the moment, but thankfully we can be greatly fulfilled with their music on Soundcloud and iTunes. One of their childhood dreams was to play at the iconic Reading & Leeds Music Festival, which they fulfilled that dream this year, it’s amazing what hardwork can do. One of my favorite tracks by the band is Corrine. The song has an overall emotional vibe which can often be hidden by the striking drums and beautifully put together guitar pieces. The lyrics “Corrine come back to me” show you just how sad the song actually is, and I am in love with it. If you are a fan of bands like Wolf Alice, Alvvays, or JAWS, you will certainly adore Black Honey.
Check them out on Facebook, Soundcloud, and Twitter. Maybe even shoot them a text with their mobile that’s listed on their Facebook profile. They are such an amazing band that you clearly wouldn’t want to miss out on listening to. Their UK tour dates can be found here. Listen to Corrine below.
