Get to Know: Catholic Action

We first noticed this band purely by their name, anything created by irony is sure to catch our attention and that is what Catholic Action accomplished. They first turned heads when they released their love-filled ode to British singer Rita Ora. Since then, the Glaswegian band have been all over the U.K. festival circuit (which included Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, and Radio 1 Big Weekend).

Catholic Action are comprised of Chris McCrory (guitar/vox), Jamie Dubber (bass), Ryan Clark (drums), and Andrew McPherson (lead guitar). You may recognize Chris McCrory’s name, he’s not only a producer but he was also a member of the band Casual Sex. Which makes perfect sense for their post-punk meets metal glam. They have a barbed intricacy to their sound, which caught our attention during SXSW.

Catholic Action are creating more buzz for themselves in 2017, their new single Doing Well has been well received and now being signed to new label, Modernsky, the band are hard at work to complete their debut full-length album which is set to drop later this year. The band also has a slew of UK shows.

Keep an eye out for Catholic Action, we can tell that massive things are in store for them and we cannot wait to see what’s next.

Melomaniac and shameless fangirl. I am addicted to concerts. They are my sanctuary and safe haven. When I'm on the front row and at barricade at a concert... I feel that I am truly home. I'm also a proud and happy crate-digger. Whether it's searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops... I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable. Also, loves dogs and food. Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook: @youthquakermimi
