Get To Know: Fronteers

Lead vocalist Andy Towse and James Taylor ( with a name like that you are bound to end up in music)  met while in school. In 2014 they discovered The Last Shadow Puppets and decided to form an acoustic duo..

“The way they sang together made me and James wanna do that,” Andy says, “And we found we could harmonise naturally too, the songwriting just seemed to flow from there.”

They then enlisted bassist Ellis Keogh and drummer Lloyd Tuton and the rest, people say, is history…

Fronteers, who are from Hull, have just released their third song ” Idol “. It was premiered by 6Music’s Steve Lamacq this week.

The track itself is described as:

“when you’ve been over thinking something, sending yourself mad. It’s that voice inside your head telling you to stop but you’re just not hearing it.” says vocalist Andy Towse.

Fronteers closed out last year supporting both Blossoms and Pretty Vicious. Once again they will be joining up with Pretty Vicious, on February 11, in London for the NME Awards show at Dingwalls.

With labels lining up to court them, 2016 looks set to be an exciting year for Fronteers.
