Get to Know: Her’s

Her’s is probably not a band you’ve heard of… YET, but you will thanks in part to their dreamy almost California surf-pop (think of a more baritone Mac DeMarco). If I had to think of one word to describe their sound, I’d say lush.

The duo are based in Liverpool and consist of Barrow-born Stephen Fitzpatrick and Norwegian Audun Laading. Being from coastal towns definitely seems to influence their hazy melodies infused with dreamy guitar riffs, booming bass, and frenzied drums are all accompanied with Fitzpatrick’s striking baritone which makes for a winning combo and contrast.

Having clocked over one million streams between just two tracks (debut single Dorothy and What Once Was) speaks volumes about them.

We’re also fortunate enough to feature their follow-up track, I’ll Try.
It continues the blasé dream-pop charm that Her’s have crafted and perfected. The track is more of a lovelorn tune but continues with the quintessential jangly pop vibe. Listen below.

Her’s will have their 8 track collection aptly named Songs of Her’s and will be out on May 12th. It includes all their recorded output to date plus five new songs to make for the most complete introduction to their eccentric and world yet. The GATRS will be all over this debut so stay tuned for a proper album review but until then, enjoy their stellar debut single below.

Her’s have already made the festival circuit which include Green Man Festival and making their SXSW debut. They’ll also continue touring so make sure to catch them during their UK tour with our fave Happyness, dates are below.

The most important thing to know about me is that I'm a melomaniac and shameless fangirl. I am addicted to concerts, they are my sanctuary and safe haven. When I'm on the front row on the barricade of a concert... I feel that I am truly home. I'm also a proud and happy vinyl crate-digger. Whether it's searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops... I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable. I am a true Cancer with Moon in Cancer and ascending in Pisces. Also, loves dogs (especially my son Elvis) and quality food porn pictures. Social Media: @youthquakermimi
