The three-piece band from Cape Cod, Massachusetts is composed of Johnny Stevens (Guitar/Vocals/Synths), Ryan Meyer (Drums/Vocals), and Rich Meyer (Bass/Vocals). Their sound is a combination of blues and rock with a bit of an edge to it. The band has many big things coming our way; like the release of their first album, Mister Asylum, on July 17th, their set at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and their upcoming tour with Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Highly Suspect have several songs out at the moment, most coming from their highly anticipated album. My favorite has got to be Bath Salts due to its bluesy sound, raw vocals, and guitar solos. They have a song out entitled 23 featuring Sasha Dobson – their vocals combined create a perfect harmony. Two songs that have been released from Mister Asylum are Lost and Claudeland, which premiered on Billboard a few days ago. Lost is just a great, solid rock song with its raging guitar solos and chilling vocals, it is probably one of the most liked by me. Their most well-known song is called Lydia, and I bet you’ve heard it on your local rock station. It’s truly a song you must listen to because of its powerful lyrics and bass. Highly Suspect are one of the rawest rock bands out there right now, and they definitely deserve a listen.
You can preorder Mister Asylum on iTunes or on their Website. They will be playing four shows with Catfish and Bottlemen in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Norfolk, and New York City, and they’ll be playing at Bonnaroo and Aftershock 2015. Make sure to check out the video below and follow up with the band through their Sound Cloud, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Spotify.
GATRS Megan, Krystal, and I are excited to say that we will be seeing them soon, so look out for a review and a few videos or photos.
