Get To Know: NUNS

NUNS are a psychedelic/melodic rock band from Tulsa, OK. They are made up of Hank Hanewinkel III (Guitar/Vocals), Chris Davis (Bass), Christy Hanewinkel (Drums), and Christian Sanchez (Guitar). From taking the stage at SXSW 2015, NUNS will be making their way to join Gerard Way on his last leg of the U.S. Hesitant Alien Tour. I will be at the show in Minneapolis on May 15th at First Avenue, and I’m even more excited to be seeing NUNS there too.

1601016_274061636084031_215906346_nThe band recently released their new single, Melanie Bryn. I love the song and I can definitely see why Gerard has interest in the band. With sounds and synths that remind me of listening to the Hesitant Alien album, NUNS will surely make a lasting impact on the fans throughout this tour. Not only do they have a new single, but they have an album out too. Opportunities was released May 13, 2014 and received a five-star review on iTunes. The positive feedback has motivated the band in significant ways. If you’re interested in the Australian quintet, Tame Impala, I’m most certain you would love NUNS too.

Being originally from Oklahoma myself, I feel a lot of pride in this band. Make sure to give them a listen; they’re definitely worth it. Follow up with the band on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Soundcloud. Check out the concert dates below, tickets are going fast!
