Recently, Luke Thornton from The Twisted Dolls had emailed me specifically over my Blossoms EP review and said that he and the band really loved it and that they’ve opened for Blossoms in Manchester last New Years Eve. This started something new for me, when reading this email I became excited to check the band out and they’re now one of my favorites. The Twisted Dolls are from Manchester and are made up of Luke (vocals/guitar), Jimi (bass), and their newest edition to the band, Grace. Some of their musical influences come from bands like Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Ray Charles, and The White Stripes. When first hearing the band’s name, I was immediately intrigued and already wanted to know more about them. The first song I listened to by them was King Of The Blues and I enjoyed every second of the song. It has an 80’s rock vibe to it and starts off very strong with raging guitar and drums; something I really appreciate in a song. Fuzzy, gnarly, garage-rock are a few words to describe this band’s music. If you haven’t heard of The Twisted Dolls, I advise you to do so right now. You can be directed to their Soundcloud and Facebook to check them out!
