Gotcha Covered: Charli XCX Covers “Shake it Off”

It’s been really difficult not to notice, or hear, Shake it Off by Taylor Swift… Although I’m not a fan I am really loving Charli XCX’s cover of it.
Charli is a complex mixture of bubble gum pop but don’t be fooled, she’s feisty.
She adds a major dosage of kick ass girl power to whatever she is doing, like the time she started the pussy power chant, her staple mantra, during her rendition of the ear-worm hit Fancy without Iggy Azalea in NYC (she even did Iggy’s part, making it better in my opinion).
She has a love for punk music and it shows. Her cover of Shake it Off is raucous, almost new-wave full of sharp vocals, guitar riffs and an infectious bass line.
