ICYMI: Listen to Rooney’s “Second Chances”

L.A. based Rooney made quite the comeback. Robert Schwartzman revived my high school love, Rooney, with perfect summer songs last year with My Heart Beats for U and Why from the album Washed Away.

Now there’s another new single, Second Chances, from the upcoming EP El Cortez. Although technically the song isn’t new, it was first featureD in Schwartzman’s solo album Double Capricorn but with a more updated and finely tuned, it’s everything we love about Rooney and Robert Schwartzman. (You can compare the two below.)
It encapsulates sunny California intermixed with layers of catchy beats and guitar riffs with Schwartzman’s harmonies and the anthemic lyrics like “Don’t it seem funny, how the rich are making money, while the bees make all the honey? So entitled, playing your recital and anyone can be an idol.” We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Rooney we’ve missed you dearly. Listen below.

The original is below, we happen to love both.

Rooney’s EP El Cortez is out July 28th.
