The Horrors released the video for “Machine today. It’s the first single from their upcoming fifth album ‘V’, their first release in three years, via Wolftone/Caroline. The video was directed by Jon Emmony and is based around the concept of computer simulation, he had this to say about the video…

The video for ‘Machine’ is based around the concept of computer simulation. The creatures, formed from sections cut and twisted from insects, crustaceans, and bone are arranged in sculptural compositions inspired by artists such as Hieronymus Bosch; finding the surreal within mixed forms and scales. The movement for the creatures is powered through generated simulations – randomised numbers and splines are generated and the position of each creature along these splines are calculated; seemingly without reason but born from the choices of software.

New album ‘V’ shows the group at the peak of their powers, exhibiting a freedom and sense of exploration that feels truly liberating. Recorded in London with producer Paul Epworth (FKA Twigs, Lorde, Rihanna, Adele), ‘V’ is the sound of the band making the most expansive and progressive music of their careers.

Most important thing to know about me is that I'm a melomaniac and shameless fangirl. I am addicted to concerts, they are my sanctuary and safe haven. When I'm on the front row on the barricade of a concert... I feel that I am truly home. I'm also a proud and happy vinyl crate-digger. Whether it's searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops... I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable. I am a true Cancer with Moon in Cancer and ascending in Pisces. Also, loves dogs (especially my son Elvis) and quality food porn pictures. Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook: @youthquakermimi
