Throwback Thursday: Christmas Edition Pt. I

In 1977, The Kinks released one of our all time favourite Christmas songs here at the blog, Father Christmas.

The song is a tale of a Santa who gets overtaken  by a group of poor kids that would rather have money or jobs for their fathers, than impractical toys… Those can be given to the little rich boys.

The song clocked in at number 8 in the Rolling Stones Reader Poll of the Best Christmas songs of all time and has been covered by a number of bands since its release, including Ok Go.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc, I'm an avid vinyl lover and I have the receipts to prove it.
