Julian Casablancas is Working on New Music With the Strokes and Savages’ Jehnny Beth

The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and Savages singer Jehnny Beth are collaborating on an upcoming song, Noisey reports. Julian and Jehnny became friends when both bands, the Voidz and Savages, played together at a series of South American festivals back in 2014 and apparently bonded during their time.
Despite admitting that he feels more at home with the Voidz at this point, Julian also said that he’s writing new material with the Strokes, prior to their string of festival appearances this summer.

It’s the first time we’ve been exclusively writing since Comedown Machine. We’re planning on recording stuff. I still think we could do cool things and I’ll do that. I’d like to do both [bands] really if I could.

I definitely think Julian can, and will. There’s so much creativity and amazing stage presence in both bands, it’d be incredible to see where they both go.
Take a look back at the Strokes in Las Vegas and the Voidz in Austin.

When I'm on the front row on the barricade of a concert... I feel that I am truly home. I'm also a proud and happy vinyl crate-digger. Whether it's searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops... I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable.
