It’s Super Bowl Sunday and no offense to Katy Perry but it looks like we all missed out on the best performances, it’s being dubbed as the better than the half-time show. Which hasn’t even happened yet. Ouch.
Rihanna was being considered as one of the finalists to headline this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show but when the NFL opted for Katy Perry instead, that’s when DirectTV swooped in. The satellite TV company not only got Rhianna to perform but they also scored with Kanye West for its annual Super Bowl pre-party concert.
DirecTV held their exclusive, invite-only Super Bowl pre-party concert last night in Arizona with co-headliners, Kanye West and Rihanna. Both artists performed through their biggest hits. Rihanna sang We Found Love, Umbrella, and Rude Boy throughout the night. While Kanye did Gold Digger, Jesus Walks, Flashing Lights, and Black Skinhead. They also joined up occasionally, both performing All Of The Lights and Run This Town.
Kanye also performed his single Only One towards the end of the night. Sadly, they skipped singing their new collab FourFiveSeconds together and contrary to reports Paul McCartney was not in attendance.
Watch video of some of the performance below.
Katy Perry and special guests Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott will attempt to top all that tonight during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.
