Listen to Grimes’ New Song “Medieval Warfare” From Suicide Squad

Grimes’ song contribution to the Suicide Squad soundtrack is finally here. Medieval Warfare is her first new material since her incredible album Art Angels, the album is the euphonic equivalent of Harley Quinn. It’s musical mayhem with wailing guitar riffs, lavish synths, trap-influenced basslines, and overall, it’s reminiscent of her 2012 album Visions and is even perfectly fitting with her latest LP Art Angels. Grimes’ vocals may be sweet and sugary but they’re not one-dimensional, they’re multi-faceted and layered with maleficent distortion. Listen below.

Grimes told Song Exploder last month that Harley Quinn was a key inspiration in Art Angels highlight Kill v. Maim and Grimes isn’t shy about her love and obsession of Harley Quinn, so her inclusion in the Suicide Squad soundtrack is perfect.
