Damn Har Mar Superstar, back at it again with another hypnotic track! Anybody’s Game is the newest track from Sean Tillman aka Har Mar Superstar and it’s seriously addicting. The new track will be featured on Tillmans’s newest LP, Best Summer Ever, and since it’s inception has been imagined as a Greatest Hits of Har Mar Superstar from 1950-1985. Tillmann was born in 1978.. Yep, you read that right. Proof of his typical tongue-in-cheek attitude that is as infectious as his music.
Best Summer Ever is a slow burner with many ballads, dance-able tracks, and co-writes from his long-time friend Julian Casablancas (Cult Records founder, The Strokes and The Voidz), Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Erykah Badu, Voidz, Weezer), and he also got help from artpop queen Karen O, Matt Sweeney, and James Levy (Reputante, Lolawolf). Bobby Charles wrote the opener, I Hope and Youth Without Love was a demo written by Julian that was sitting around that Har Mar fell in love with, so they made it for the record (can a duet happen at some point.. That would be incredible to hear).
From the moment the beat drops, Anybody’s Game is the perfect anthem for a night out with friends, getting into mischief and fun. It makes you want to dance and sing along to Har Mar’s voice, which is sharp and intoxicating.
After living in LA and NYC for 12 years, Sean moved back to Minneapolis, MN where he is most creative and with the help of Chris Bierden (Polica, Bye Bye 17), Ryan McMahon (Har Mar, Lizzo), Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Adele, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, Cat Stevens), and Ryan Olson (Polica, Marijuana Deathsquads) Har Mar Superstar’s album Best Summer Ever was born.
Look out for Har Mar Superstar, now fronting a six-piece band complete with horns, touring worldwide this year. The live show has always been a fun, sweat-soaked celebration of joy. The man was born to rock a stage so come join the party, we will!
