Listen to Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears New Solo Debut Track, “Creep City”

Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears shared his debut solo track entitled Creep City on a Facebook post. At first listen, it reminds me of a more uptempo intro of Rufus & Chaka Khan’s Tell Me Something Good with a more NOLA melodic twist with its brass horns (it’s completely fitting since Shears moved to New Orleans in 2015). The track is boisterous and has the signature Shears Scissor Sisters theatricality.

In an email to fans, Shears shares that “The world is upside down right now. In the thick of it, I feel that we still need tunes that make us smile, that make us wanna sing and dance like fools.” Listen below.

Shears encourages his fans to come out to his first New York City show in five years on November 12th at Elsewhere and November 14 in London.
Shears is cryptic on a new album, Labor of Love, but we’re sure more teasing will be involved so stay tuned.
