Menace Beach share Super Transporterreum

Menace Beach have released a new kaleidoscopic daydream video for Super Transporterreum from their same name EP (we’ve already heard Ghoul Power.) Director Tom Hudson discussed the making of the video…

“We spoke about the 1950’s b-movie ‘The Brain From Planet Arous’ as an inspiration. In classic b-movie style I shot the guys on green screen at the Lord Whitney studio in Leeds, made some hideously warped background animations using super 8 acetate & after effects, crafted a giant brain with eyes, a giant skull and then got to work! Think of it as ‘The Brain From Planet Arous’ meets ‘The Word’ (a late night 90’s channel 4 music show.)”

The Super Transporterreum EP is a distillation of what Menace Beach have previously called their “own grubby little Ratworld”, this time with added technicolour. With band leaders Ryan and Liza’s unmistakable vocal interplay coming to the fore, their lopsided surreal and esoteric creativity means they have created a sound that is unmistakably their own.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc, I'm an avid vinyl lover and I have the receipts to prove it.
