Last week, St. Vincent announced dates for her Fear the Future Tour which seemed like a precursor to her nest album. Today, Annie Clark aka St. Vincent makes her return with New York. Her first proper solo single since 2015’s Teenage Talk for the HBO show GIRLS.
The lead single is an unexpected return as Clark trades in her trademark guitar for the piano for the lovelorn ballad but that’s what makes it the perfect single because it’s bold. Before listening to it, you’d think the wistful track was a breakup song but in actuality, it sounds more like a song reminiscing of an impassioned time that isn’t filled with regret. It seems like Clark’s melody equivalent of Humphrey Bogart’s classic line in Casablanca “We’ll always have Paris.” Listen below.

Most important thing to know about me is that I’m a melomaniac and shameless fangirl. I am addicted to concerts, they are my sanctuary and safe haven. When I’m on the front row on the barricade of a concert… I feel that I am truly home.
I’m also a proud and happy vinyl crate-digger. Whether it’s searching for vinyl at flea markets, garage sales, vintage shops… I am a sucker for the crackling of a good record when the needle drops on a turntable.
I am a true Cancer with Moon in Cancer and ascending in Pisces.
Also, loves dogs (especially my son Elvis) and quality food porn pictures.
