Tobias Jesso Jr. “Without You”

Tobias Jesso Jr.’s debut album Goon swept everyone off their feet this year with its quiet and gorgeous sounds and now, Tobias continues the beautiful and melancholic mood with Without You.

When I first heard Without You, I thought it was a mournful break-up song that had you longing for a lost love but music is subjective and interpretations vary, which is what makes music so great.
It was directed by Seth Mendelson and stars Ben Smith-Petersen and Kathy Boettcher (as the couple with varying ages) and features Tobias doing what Tobias does best, quietly serenading us from a piano, meanwhile the couple first slow dance along to the beautiful song and just when you think there was some sort of breakup as Kathy walks away… Ben goes after her and they have passionate sex in the bathroom. The cinematography is beautifully done.

Watch it below.
Goon is out now via True Panther and it’s one of the best albums of 2015 by far.
