New Video Release: Pearls “Big Shot”

Melbourne three-piece Pearls formed in 2011 and since then have made shimmering sounds that float above their peers and they have just released a video for their single BIG SHOT.
Big Shot was the last song written from the album and “a direction the band seems to be naturally drifting towards,” guitarist and vocalist Ryan Ceasar.

Ben Montero has illustrated the clip using colorful watercolors. “The usual inspiration is in there with the 60’s and 70’s style psych art as well Crumb style animal dementia,” Monero says.
Big Shot has an undercurrent of menace, so the bright colors unsettle a little and disoriented. Like a bouncy cartoon mouse with flick knife. I was drawing most of this while crashing on a couch that smelt like cat piss with zero sleep so that may have seeped into my subconscious too.

I’ll admit, I am already addicted to the almost Gary Glitter type riff they have going on along with the trippy cartoon video.
Pearls debut album, Pretend You’re Mine, drops Feb.20th
