Song Of The Day: Rory Wynne ” Star In The Sky “

After a childhood accident at the age of 10, left  Rory Wynne housebound for a summer with little to do, Rory absorbed himself in music and sat for hours watching music videos:

‘There was nothing to really do except watch the telly, so my parents thought getting me a guitar was a good idea – I taught myself by playing and copying what I saw on the music video channels’.

Thus began his career at 10… ( at the age of 10 I was probably somewhere playing in the  dirt and drinking from water hoses, but to be fair, we didn’t have music video’s when I was that age)

Now at the age of 17, he has released his debut EP ‘What Would Rory Wynne Do?’ The EP draws influence from some of Rory’s musical heroes including Nirvana, The Beatles, Oasis and Aerosmith. Speaking of his musical heroes, Rory said

‘One of my biggest inspirations is Jack White, the way he keeps working on different projects and evolving, you always have to evolve or you’ll be forgotten’

Listen below to the single Star In The Sky:

I will admit, at the age of 17 I was no longer playing in the dirt, but I certainly wasn’t making music or doing anything productive other than planning what outfit I would wear while going out during the weekend..call me shallow! Rory has the sound of someone much older than his age, so you know he is going to be a contender in the music business. He is already touring with the likes of Cabbage and Blossoms. So check out his new EP and if you can, check him out live, we hear he is a great performer on stage!

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc, I'm an avid vinyl lover and I have the receipts to prove it.
