Song of the Day: Watch Samantha Urbani’s “Go Deeper”

It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from Samantha Urbani, former leader of the New York band Friends. She had an infectious song, 1 2 3 4, two years ago that was a perfect summer jam that was splashing of ’80s dance vibes. She also popped up in fantastic collaborations with Blood Orange’s (Dev Hynes) mesmerizing tracks like Friends song The Way (Blood Orange Mix), You’re Not Good Enough, No Right Thing, It Is What It Is, Chosen, Always Let U Down, On The Line, and Time Will Tell (Blood Orange tracks).

Now, she’s back now with Go Deeper. It’s a brooding yet mellifluous thanks to Urbani’s dulcet voice but don’t let her sweet voice fool you, the track has some dagger sharp lyrics like “How much violence can silence create?”. Watch the official video below which was also directed by Urbani.

Samantha Urbani’s The Policies Of Power EP is out later this year via Lucky Number/URU.
