Soundcheck: Week of Sept 9th

Been kind of a crazy day here at the GATRS, so many new releases and streaming of albums, so this is coming a bit later than usual. Forgive us. Here are a few things I have been listening to this past week, hopefully you find something new to listen to.

Biffy Clyro released a video for their single Victory Over The Sun. It starts out on the slow side, but about a minute and a half in you cant help but whisper YES at the fab guitar riff that takes over. Victory Over The Sun is from their album Opposites.

The Grooms released a new video for I Think We Are Alone Now. Their album Infinity Calling was released on September 3rd via Western Vinyl.

It is very possible that I have been living off only air and Arctic Monkeys lately. It’s also possible to say I had a hard time choosing a song to post off of AM, which was released today, because I love them all but I have a soft spot for I Want It All… Mostly due to Jamie’s guitar riff in the song. It’s intoxicating.

The first EP after parting ways with their record company, Darlington’s will release Who Says There Is No Beach on Doncaster, September 16. The single Everything seems to be pointing in the We did the right thing by leaving direction.

I have been loving on Blaenavon ever since I found them a few weeks back. They recently premiered their new single Wunderkind and it is full of all sorts of dreamy vocals and music. Their EP is out September 23 on Trangressive records, its one of the many reasons September is turning out to be an awesome month for new releases.
