The GATRS Picks: Must See Bands with Upcoming Tours

The GATRS have all gathered together for our individual picks of the top six must see bands that have upcoming tours. These bands/artists are all very talented, especially with their live performances, and that is why we have chosen them specifically.

GATR Molly’s Pick: Catfish and the Bottlemen

Catfish and the Bottlemen are a rock band from Wales, made up of Van McCann (lead singer/guitar), Bob Hall (drums), Benji Blakeway (bass/background vocals), and Johnny Bond (lead guitar/background vocals). Catfish are definitely the best live band I have ever seen and if you’ve never seen them before, I highly advise you to. They put on a hell of a show and will hopefully see you on their North American Tour. Watch the official video to their single, Pacifier, below.

GATR Megan’s Pick: Wolf Alice

There is a lot of buzz going around about Wolf Alice right now, especially after their album release, My Love Is Cool. Everyone is digging them – I am too, I actually have known and loved them for quite some time now. Wolf Alice are from North London and are made up of Ellie Roswell (lead singer/guitar), Joff Odie (vocals/lead guitar), Theo Ellis (bass), and Joel Amey (drums). Their grunge sound brings for a heavy amount of rager songs, and a lot of on-stage rocking out. If you are a fan of rock/grunge styled music, then Wolf Alice are definitely for you. Check out their massive North American Tour here, and their video for Moaning Lisa Smile. (prepare to rock out, this one is a jam)

GATR Tara’s Pick: Frank Turner

Frank Turner is a Singer/Songwriter from the UK and his genre of singing is mainly folk-punk and acoustic rock, which can make for some serious tunes. He used to be the lead singer for Million Dead, until the band break up in 2005, Frank decided to start his own legendary acoustic-based solo career. Positive Songs For Negative People is Frank’s upcoming album which drops on August 7th, 2015, so get ready for some madness because I know Frank is smashing it. His North American Tour dates can be found here and a video for his single The Next Storm is below.

GATR Krystal’s Pick: The Vaccines

The Vaccines are an English indie/rock band from West London and are made up of Justin Hayward-Young (lead singer/guitar), Freddie Cowan (lead guitar/vocals), Arni Arnason (bass/vocals), and Pete Robertson (drums/vocals). They have released three studio albums, their latest being English Graffiti which was released on May 25th, 2015. They’ve also been opening acts for Arctic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more. The Vaccines describe their music influences from ’50’s rock ‘n’ roll all the way to ’80’s American hardcore and pop, and the influences definitely shine through them stylistically, their music is very ’80’s and that’s what is hot in the music world today. They will head on their North American tour in August, you can find ticket links here. Below is The Vaccines with their song, Handsome.

GATR Naomi’s Pick: Albert Hammond Jr.

Albert Hammond Jr. is from Los Angeles, CA and also is a member of one of the all-time greatest bands, The Strokes. He also has his own solo career, which is going amazing for him. Albert’s single, Born Slippy, was a huge hit, especially here at the GATRS headquarters. The song is simply so catchy and I love the rhythm. He has an upcoming album called, Momentary Masters, which is said to drop on July 31st, 2015. This album is highly anticipated by many and I’m sure Albert is going to blow everyone’s minds when they hear it. He will be going on his North American Tour starting in September, ticket links can be found here. His single and music video for Born Slippy is below.

GATR Teri’s Pick: Father John Misty

Father John Misty is singer/songwriter Josh Tillman, and he has just released a new album entitled, I Love You, Honeybear. It’s a very dynamic album with many songs of romance and intimacy. Josh is from Rockville, Maryland and has been on his solo career for a while now. He was also a member of bands Saxon Shore and Fleet Foxes. If you’ve never heard of Father John Misty, have a listen of his song Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins) below, and I am sure you will be in love. Also, check out his tour dates here to find out if he will be playing in a city near you.
