The Jesus And Mary Chain “Always Sad”

The Jesus And Mary Chain are back with their first album since 1998’s Munki (they broke up in 1999). The first single was Amputation but not to be outdone, their second track is Always Sad. Which is a perfect and melancholic name witch matching lyrics like “I think I’m always gonna be sad/ Because you’re the best I ever had,” singer Jim Reid and guest vocalist Bernadette Denning sing in unison during the chorus, “A million miles between us now/ Why can’t we just work things out?” Ironically, the song sounds more upbeat than their usual sound… It oddly balances you out, like Rob Lowe character Chris Traeger in Parks and Rec (that episode where Chris Pratt’s character Andy Dwyer and Aubrey Plaza’s character April Ludgate try to cheer him up and also bring him down). Damage And Joy is out 3/24 on ADA/Warner Music.
