The Libertines “Gunga Din”

Last night, The Libertines officially announced Anthems for Doomed Youthwhich is their first album in 11 years, and today they’re making news again. Less than 24 hours after the big announcement of a new album, the lads are back on the scene with their new lead single, Gunga Din, which takes its name from Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous 19th century poem. The lead track made its debut at The Netherlands’ Best Kept Secret Music Festival and now its final studio version was revealed on BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac.
The official video was filmed while in having fun in the red light district in Thailand and showcases the chemistry between Pete Doherty and Carl Barât. Basically, the magic is back. The track is effortless and raucous, it’s essentially a classic Libertines song. Watch the video below.

Anthems For Doomed Youth arrives on September 4th via Harvest Records/Virgin EMI.
