Watch Carrie Brownstein Interview Kim Gordon for Her Memoir, Girl In A Band

To be a fly on that wall…. Two of my favorite artists and feminist icons together in conversation for Kim Gordon’s promotional tour for her memoir that was published last month, Girl In A Band. It’s a book that chronicles her life as an artist, musician (Sonic Youth), and being a mother. It also involves her romantic relationship with bandmate Thurston Moore.

During the promo tour, Kim was interviewed by Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein at San Francisco’s Jewish Community Center as part of their Arts & Ideas lecture series.
They talk about topics like Instagram, Airbnb, what it’s like to write a book, whether they consider themselves musicians, and the concept of selling out among other topics. There’s also a lot of really great side commentary from the artists
