Foals much-anticipated new album What Went Down finally comes this Friday, August 28th and with all the teasers and lyric videos, the world has heard a good bit of it so far and it’s been a thrilling and very much teasing piece of artistry. The GATRS will have a review of their newest album posted this week but until then, you can listen to an 11-minute album sampler, Mountain At My Gates, A Knife In The Ocean, and even a cover of Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker’s Daffodils.
Today… We get one more tease. Foals have debuted a new track called London Thunder via a live performance that was filmed in France’s Studios La Fabrique.
Frontman Yannis Philippakis mentioned this track on NME last month, he said:
It’s probably informed by touring, being absent in some way. We’ve been to a lot of airports over the last few years, and sometimes there’s this cool melancholy to an airport at a certain hour of the evening. It’s about being away and having some sort of experience that changes you, and waiting to return, knowing that the world you’re returning to will be subtly different because you are.
