Watch Grimes’ ‘Kill V. Maim’ Video

If you have not heard Grimes’ newest album, Art Angels, yet you are truly missing out on one of the best albums of 2015. I still currently play it on repeat because it has exceeded expectations and was very much worth the wait. Claire Boucher (aka Grimes) has already released videos for Flesh Without Blood/In the Vivid Dream, which are a superb piece of cinematography artistry.

As previously promised via twitter, Grimes dropped the official video for Kill V. Maim at 8 am PST.  In the video, which is co-directed by Claire and her brother Mac, it’s shot in Toronto’s subway system and features Grimes driving through the streets in a futuristic dystopia, giving off killer Mad Max Fury Road vibes. It’s a cyberpunk fantasy complete with an end of times, dance til we’re dead rave with blood-soaked fellow cybergoths.
The video is easily one of the best of 2016 so far, the song is a perfect blend of Grimes’ sugary voice with a beat that will be sure to get stuck in your head for a week. Watch the video below.

Art Angels is out now via 4AD.
