Watch Solange & Dev Hynes Reunite at FYF Fest, Perform Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin’s “To Be Young, Black, and Gifted”

As the sun was setting on Sunday evening at FYF Fest in LA, tech problems delayed Solange’s performance by twenty minutes and after more sound issues, the technical issue was resolved and we have to admit, this set up the stage for Solange’s surprise… She brought out singer/songwriter Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) for three songs which include Bad Girls and Losing You from her 2012 EP, True. Solange and Dev also covered the anthemic Civil Rights song by Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin’s To Be Young, Black, and Gifted with the help of singer Moses Sumney and all-female soul trio KING. This was the first time the two singers have performed together since their 2013 feud but we don’t want to go into hearsay or gossip because that’s not our style, so instead let’s celebrate that Solange and Dev have reunited in a glorious way.

Watch the videos below, I can’t stop watching myself.
