Wilco Cancel Indianapolis Gig

Indiana Governor Mike Pence, signed a bill into law last week that will allow businesses to discriminate against gay people, calling it ” religious freedom “

This has caused many business to consider pulling from the state. Not only have businesses spoken out against it, but so has  the band Wilco.

I woke up this morning to an announcement on my Facebook page from the band…

We are canceling our May 7 show at the Murat in Indianapolis. The “Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act” feels like thinly disguised legal discrimination to us. Hope to get back to the Hoosier State someday soon, when this odious measure is repealed. Refunds available at point of purchase.

We applaud Wilco on their move. This is not religious freedom, it is the denial of human rights.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc, I'm an avid vinyl lover and I have the receipts to prove it.
