Zola Blood return with the first single from their self-produced debut album, ‘Infinite Games.’ slated for release later this year.
‘Heartbeat’ was written and recorded in the band’s Hackney studio and takes cues from the likes of techno heroes Matthew Dear and Trentemoller, blending layers of sumptuous percussion, analogue synths and atmospheric guitars.
Musically it reflects the band’s love of the dance music that pervades the area where they work into the night. Drums and acoustic guitars combine in complex rhythms, giving way to a euphoric climax, while the lyrics tell the story of a relationship that should never have been.
