Avril Lavigne Releases New Version of Hit Single ‘Head Above Water’ Featuring Travis Clark of We The Kings

Avril Lavigne released a new version of her hit single “Head Above Water” featuring Travis Clark, ( We The Kings )who co-wrote the track with her. Released in September 2018, “Head Above Water” marked the singer’s first new music in 5 years and was followed by the release of her sixth studio album of the same name which debuted in the Top 10 following its release on February 15, 2019 via BMG.

Of the track, Avril remarks, “Writing Head Above Water with Travis Clark from We The Kings was such a beautiful experience. I started this song during a tough time battling Lyme disease a few years ago and thought my life was over. One night when I was starting to feel better, I had a party at my house and somehow Travis was there. I had never met him before. I found him on my piano and I just thought he was so unbelievably talented, and I asked him to finish the song with me. We worked so hard on this track and were able to take my story and put it out in the world. I hope that my words in this song and our voices bring you hope faith light and strength and that you also are able to keep your head above the water.”

Avril recently announced her first tour in 5 years – the “Head Above Water” tour. The 15-date North American tour kicks off on September 14 in Seattle, WA and will hit cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston before concluding in Philadelphia, PA on October 11. Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase here.

Proceeds from each ticket will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation. The Avril Lavigne Foundation supports people with Lyme Disease, serious illness or disabilities. Through programs and grants, it provides prevention resources, funds treatment and accelerates research in order to provide hope and transform lives.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
