EXIT KID release fuzzy, caustic and sarcastic new single ‘Bleary Eyed’

Harnessing a righteous fury and disbelief at the contempt and complacency shown by our (so called) leaders during lockdown, London duo Exit Kid explode with the fiery, satirical ‘Bleary Eyed.

Taking equal elements from grunge, Britpop and slacker-rock, it’s the latest single in a line of alternative-90s revivalist gems, and a three minute, two fingered salute to the medley of morons running the world during these crazy times. Brazen in its unsubtlety, the fuzzy guitar stabs and distorted yelps match the manic nature of the themes. Frontman Emre Türkmen elaborates on the origins of the track:

“I wrote Bleary Eyed in the middle of the Great British Lockdown, having consumed a daily-dose of Boris Johnson’s Covid briefings, and watched in horror as Trump found a hidden sixth-gear of madness across the pond. The song is written tongue-in-cheek from the perspective of these leaders, who seem to have no clue.

I made the video myself, using nothing more than simple GIFs of these people in action. You really couldn’t write this stuff.”

Exit Kid are Emre Türkmen (Guitar, Vocals) and Dylan Bell (Drums) – ‘Bleary Eyed’ is the new single, out now.

You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
