Forecastle Festival was founded in 2002 by JK McKnight, a Louisville Native. The festival is held on Louisville’s scenic 85-acre waterfront park.
Fans lined up as early as noon to be ready for the gates to open to catch the barrier for some of their favorite artists. Forecastle Festival supplied a great line-up to attendees with acts such as The Killers, Cold War Kids, Moon Taxi, Caamp, Judah & The Lion, The Artisanals, The Band Camino and many more!
Forecastle Festival was an all around fantastic trip. Even if you dragged your friend to the festival so you wouldn’t attend alone there was plenty to do. From Bourbon tents to rides such as the “Sea Dragon” and a classic “Ferris Wheel”, the rides returned. The API poster show gave designers from all around the opportunity to show their work and connect with many music-loving fans. While the KY Craft Beer Bar caught the attention of the Craft Beer lovers due to Forecastle’s partner Sierra Nevada offering up some favorites. Then, the late night shows, one provided by Chromeo and the other by Moon Taxi.
