Hayfitz releases new single Daylight

NYC-based indie-folk artist Hayfitz has shared his new single “Daylight” along with the single he also announced his upcoming album Capsules, due out May 2020. Daylight is the second single to be released from the upcoming album. The single is a gauzy celestial song that will give you a much-needed feeling of calm. Listen below:

The foundation of Capsules was recorded over eighteen days in a Seattle home surrounded by idyllic views of the Puget Sound and the region’s mountains and evergreens. The setting brought Hayfitz the emotional space to deliver the record with resolve, bringing intentional details to each song and distilling the franticness of a Brooklyn lifestyle. But the current shape of the album was found in two weeklong stays in a secluded winter cabin in Pennsylvania with friend and collaborator Patrick Gregg

Gregg and Hayfitz collaborated to bring a range of woodwinds to the recording process, with Gregg playing everything from bass clarinet to saxophone. From there, collaboration became a key component to the album’s finesse, with Hayfitz bringing eight friends and acquaintances into his DIY studio spaces over the six month process, each collaboration painting a new layer of impactful, unfiltered work.

Hayfitz is currently on tour throughout North America, performing at various venues, private residences, and other nontraditional venues with SidedoortoSXSW , and will be a showcasing artist at SXSW .

About Teri (2731 Articles)
You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
