Having spent the last few years as a producer, collaborating with the likes of Ookay on the single ‘Lighthouse’ as well as on his stunning release ‘Bruises’, Fox Stevenson is now looking to be more adventurous with his sound as he returns with his latest offering ‘Dreamland’.
Having grown up as a fan of pop-punk, the DJ and now live performer has always looked to incorporate his influences within the world of electronic music. Adopting the ferocious tenacity of high-speed rhythms within the dance community has been very much his calling card since his early days, but now looks to fully immerse the two on his new single.
Inspired by his newly created Fox Stevenson LIVE project, where he will be joined by Dan Sawyer on the drums and Bruce Charles (Bustre) on guitar to create a fully-realized band to perform his work live.
Speaking about ‘Dreamland’, he said, “This is the kind of song I always wanted to make, melding the dance world with the rock and singer songwriter pop world, without losing their best parts, ‘Dreamland’ is a song about feeling you just don’t quite get it, and looking around feeling like everyone else does; asking yourself if you can do better and never knowing if your lot in life is the product of who you’ve become. This track is the most important single I’ve released to date, it stands firmly at the heart of what Fox Stevenson is.”
‘Dreamland’ is the first taste of a new studio album due to arrive in October. Listen below:
