ICYMI: Listen To ” The Family Business ” By Stats

With their debut album Other Peoples Lives releasing in just a few days ( Feb 15th ), Stats are ready to take on the world with it and their newest single “ The Family Business”. Their previous single Lose It racked up an impressive 175,000 listens on Spotify in the first two weeks of posting, and we feel The Family Business will quickly surpass it with its retro 80’s feel.

The new single is all about the break down of a family, lead man Ed Seeds gives us a few more details about the song:

“Families tell stories about themselves just like individual people do, and sometimes when those stories can’t hold anymore, you get arguments and fights that are vicious in a way that only families can be. It’s horrifying but can also be weirdly liberating – at least it forces you to be real with each other. How well do you know these people you call family anyway? They’ve always been around, but you don’t think about them like you would anyone else – sometimes you’re crueler, sometimes you’re kinder, but they’re not like any other relationships you have. Put yourself on any side of it, just try to understand.”

Along with the release of The Family Business, Stats also released a string of live show dates:

16th Feb – Rough Trade East, London – 1.30pm

27th April – Are You Listening Festival?, Reading

About Teri (2597 Articles)
You can usually find me traveling, queuing, or at barricade for a band. I am most likely doing all three things in a day. If I'm not at a concert you can also find me digging through crates for that coveted black disc of vinyl.
